Thank you to all of the chaperones for making our Exploration Simulation a success! The students had a wonderful learning experience!
Our new online Blackboard class is up and running. Six students have participated in the discussion so far. All students need to login and contribute to the discussion board this week as the assignment is due 11/20/09. :O) We will be completing a written assessment following the completion of this online activity. Go to eschool.dvusd.org and peruse through the navigation links on the left to become familiar with all of the options available!
Parents can go on Blackboard too to access documents we use in class, etc. It's another way for us to communicate and keep informed of everything that's going on!
Be sure to check PowerSchools frequently for updates and personalized notes about your child's progress. You can click on individual scores marked in blue to obtain further specific information. Students also check their own scores frequently using PowerSchools throughout the school day on the school computers.
Parents: Please e-mail me your e-mail address so I can set you up in my parent communication group. Communication through e-mail is valuable for us to work as partners to ensure student success and for you to receive information regarding school activities and events!
To help our school continue to "Go Green," I will not be providing paper copies of progress reports unless you do not have access to the Internet to check PowerSchools.
I was involved in the Arizona STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Workshop for Teachers at Biosphere 2 in Oracle, AZ in July. I have lots of interesting activities for this year's Whiz Kidz to experience! Meeting over 35 teachers around Arizona has been an exhilarating experience and we will be able to communicate with their students throughout the school year.
